What differentiates you from other photographers?
Above all…my absolute love for weddings and the thrill I get when I send photos to clients, providing them with tangible memories that last a lifetime! Without a doubt, there are a lot of great photographers in the Boston area but there’s more to it than just taking pictures. In addition, what differentiates me from other photographers is my personality, customer service, responsiveness, attention to detail, intuition for timing and anticipating the perfect shot, turnaround time on final photos, and my background in weddings and the hospitality industry.
How would you describe your photography style?
Primarily I use a photojournalistic style where my main focus is to capture candid photos with true emotions and expressions as they unfold naturally throughout the day. My goal is to blend in with your guests rather than be a distraction to the celebration. I’ve found that this photography style allows for people to feel at ease and creates some of the best and most memorable images. I also like to mix in a few posed photos and of course family and group photos, which are essential to telling the story of a wedding.
What is the usual turnaround time to view and download our images?
Your online gallery is guaranteed to be ready for you within 3 weeks of your wedding day, if not sooner. Typically I’ll be able to provide you with a mini-gallery within just a few days for you to be able to start sharing your photos on social media and with family!
How long have you been in the biz?
I’ve been photographing as a professional since 2014. Prior to photography, I was a wedding DJ so I have technically been in the biz since 2011. Understanding all aspects of a wedding ensures I never miss a shot!
Do you recommend working from a shot list?
I like to provide my clients with a questionnaire that allows for us to work together on a timeline and creating a list of the must have photos of the day. It’s important to plan ahead because as a photographer, you only have one chance to capture that perfect photo.
What kind of equipment do you use, do you have backup?
My primary camera body is a Canon 5D MKIII and my second camera body is a Canon 6D. I also have a Canon Rebel T3i that I bring along just in case and sometimes use for time-lapse photography purposes. My primary lenses that I use are a Sigma 50mm F1.4 Art Lens for portraits and detail shots, a Sigma 20mm F1.4 Art Lens for wide angle photos, and a Tamron SP 70-200MM F2.8 Telephoto Zoom Lens to be able to stay out of the way during the ceremony and dances as well as get great candid photos! For close up shots of special details like rings, cufflinks, special earrings etc., I like to use my Canon EF 100mm F2.8L Macro Lens. When it comes to low light situations, I use Canon flashes, usually one on camera and one controlled remotely off camera, but I try to go without using any flash until it’s absolutely necessary. Why? Because photos always look better in natural light! My main editing tools are Lightroom and Photoshop. I also carry along a couple of energy bars, because the last thing you need is a hangry photographer!
Do you work with a 2nd photographer?
Depending on the complexity of the event and overall budget usually determines if a second photographer is needed. I’ve provided the cost for a 2nd Shooter on my pricing page.
Are you LGBT friendly?
Absolutely!
What is your travel fee?
All of the wedding packages include travel within 1 hour from Saugus, MA, round trip. There is a $100 round trip charge for each additional hour of travel outside of the initial 1 hour.
How far in advance should we book you?
As soon as possible but generally I book for the current year and the next year.
